| Anti-Crossposting | Crossposting protection can be set to any level or completely turned off. |
| Articles Read | Shows the number of articles read in the current group. |

| Duplicate Protection | Will not re-download a file that has already been downloaded. |

| File Size Limits | Pluckit allows you to select the upper and lower size of message attachments that will be downloaded. |

| History List | To prevent repeated downloads of the same file name, Pluckit maintains a history list. Number of days before automatic removal from the list can be specified. |
| Holding Area | Sends a file directly from the viewer to a special folder for later analysis. |

| Incoming File Type | Shows the type of file currently being acquired (yenc, rar, uue, base64). |

| Multiparts Expiration | Allows you to select the number of days multipart fragments are saved before being automatically deleted. |
| Multipart Salvage | Pluckit keeps decoded multiparts that have missing companions in the \multipart_salvage folder. They can then be manually manipulated. This is particularly useful with RAR files that are missing volumes. |
| Multiple News Server Capability | As many news servers as desired can be configured in Pluckit. Each with its own list of topics and groups. |
| Navigation | Large Viewer allows you to go to the first, last, prior and next picture in a directory. |
| News Server Port | Allows you to select a news server port other than the standard 119. |
| Password Protection | Prevent unauthorized use of Pluckit. |

| Selective Downloads | Causes Pluckit to ignore any messages not having specified text in their message header. |
| Setup Wizard | Pluckit Wizard can get novice users going in a minute or two. |
| Skip Group | Skips the current group. |
| Slide Show | Allows you to display a selected group of files, displaying each for a selectable time period. |
| Topics | Similar newsgroups can be assigned to topics. Individual topics can be turned on and off. |
| View Message Header | View message headers for any of the last nine pictures. |
| Wallpaper | Pluckit can create Windows wallpaper from any image. |
| yEnc | Pluckit supports yEnc. |
| Zoom | Zoom in or out on a picture. |
