The introduction of Win XP has created compatibility problems for lots of software. Often these problems present odd or downright bizarre symptoms. For example, it is not uncommon to have two computers with identical hardware and the same version of Win XP, but one will run an application flawlessly and the other will not! Wow! How can that be?
Obviously Microsoft knew that this was going to happen, as they built a "compatibility" system into Win XP.
Here are a few strange things that you may experience if you are using XP:

Here is what to do if the XP "ghosts" begin to haunt you: |
If Pluckit is already installed but will not connect to your server:
- Go to "\program files\pluckit" and right-click on the file named "pluckit.exe".
- Select "Properties" then "Compatibility"
- Check the "Disable Visual Themes" checkbox.
- Check the "Compatibility Mode" checkbox and select Win 2000 from the dropdown list.
- Click OK.
- If Pluckit still does not connect, go back to step 4 and select Win 98.

Very Important Note: XP may toggle the "Disable visual themes" checkbox to off at any time without apparent rhyme or reason. It should be one of the first things you check if you encounter problems with Pluckit under XP. Visual themes should always be disabled for Pluckit under XP.
